When appropriate, this innovative technology can supplement traditional hands-on therapy by using targeted neuromuscular electrical stimulation to support muscle activation, movement, strength, and motor retraining. Combined with individualized pediatric PT, the Neubie gives us another tool to help your child work toward their fullest potential.

What Makes the Neubie Different?

The Neubie® (short for ‘Neuro-Bio-Electric,’) is an FDA-cleared device that can be used alongside traditional pediatric physical therapy to help your child’s brain and body work together more effectively. Unlike the electrical stimulation you may have experienced in traditional physical therapy, the Neubie uses direct current (DC) which mimics the nervous system. Rather than simply stimulating a muscle, we incorporate it into activities like reaching, standing, walking, balance, or strengthening, depending on your child’s individual needs. For some children, this gives us another way to work on muscle activation, strength, coordination, movement patterns, and neuromuscular re-education. The Neubie doesn’t replace hands-on pediatric physical therapy, it gives us another tool to help your child get the most out of treatment.
