Orthopedic Physical Therapy FAQ's

It’s important to us that our customers feel fully informed and confident when working with us.  Browse through the information below, and if you have a question that isn’t included here, feel free to reach out to us today.

What makes Whorton Therapy different?

At Whorton Therapy  we don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. Many of our patients come to us after trying other treatments without getting the results they were hoping for.  Physicians tend to prescribe meds or offer Botox injections.  Chiropractors and other physical therapists evaluate the pain and manipulate joints.  We take the time to look beyond where you hurt to determine WHY you hurt.  Pain can result from physical, spiritual, stress or nervous system dysfunction. Your treatment is one-on-one and built around your specific problem, combining advanced assessment, hands-on treatment, targeted exercise, and specialized techniques when appropriate.  Our goal is to identify what's been missed,  address the problem, and give you a clear path toward getting back to the things you want to do.

What is a treatment session like?

Every session is one-on-one and individualized to you.  We'll start by checking how you're doing and reassessing the things that matter for your condition. From there, your treatment may include hands-on therapy, dry needling, specialized technology or other techniques you may need that day.

Treatment can change from visit to visit as your body responds and your needs change. You'll also learn what you can do between visits to help maintain your programs.

Most importantly, your entire session is focused on you...your problem, your goals, and how we can help you make the most progress!

Do I need a physician referral to schedule an evaluation?

Because Florida is a direct access state, you do not need a physician referral to begin treatment. Call us at 850-684-4054 or click the schedule button on this page to get started.

How much will treatment cost?

The total cost of care depends on your condition, how long you've been dealing with it and how many visits you need.  Because every patient is different, we don't prescribe the same treatment plan for everyone.

After your initial evaluation, we'll explain what we found, what we

recommend, and what you can expect your care to involve.   You'll know

the recommend plan and costs before moving forward with no surprises

and no pressure to commit to unnecessary visits.

As a cash-based practice, we're able to focus on the care we

believe you need rather than following insurance requirements to

determine your treatment.
